Participation in the 19th RED Meeting Point

It is a great honor for us to share that the CEO of VITAEL, Vasileios Vlaserou, moderated the panel discussion titled “Housing Initiatives” at the 19th RED Meeting Point, organized by ered.gr – Greek Real Estate & Development Magazine, with the participation of distinguished speakers Angela Michalopoulou, Sotiris Bakagiannis, Christos Fouskoudis, Spiros Karakostas, and Konstantinos Karatsolis.

Key discussion points highlighted during the panel included:

• The need to establish a more flexible and modern urban planning and regulatory framework that can effectively support the development of social and affordable housing.

• The crucial role of public-private partnerships (PPPs), along with institutional financing, in accelerating sustainable residential developments.

• The importance of providing incentives to developers to sell housing units to vulnerable households at construction-cost value only — excluding land value — or alternatively, implementing substantial subsidies for monthly mortgage costs based on income and family criteria.

• The utilization of technology, modular solutions, and market data to make new developments more efficient, faster, and better aligned with the real needs of society.

The housing challenge requires close collaboration between the State and industry stakeholders, as well as realism and long-term strategic planning. The exchange of views and proposals among all involved parties is a fundamental prerequisite for advancing meaningful solutions with a tangible social impact.
